Pursuing your potential

Pursuing your potential is not found in attempting to be like someone else or achieving what someone else has achieved. It is a pursuit of the available reservoirs of potential within you. Sadly, few people come anywhere close to exhausting these resources within.

Far too many people trade the hunger for greatness for a more secure, predictable existence of mediocrity and self-protection.

Principle 2: Pressure

Welcome the pressures you experience day-to-day and recognize the refining impact they have on who you are becoming.

Principle 9: Providence

What power would be released into your life if you decided that, from this day forward, you would never make another commitment without a deliberate decision to absolutely fulfill it? Bill Cosby once said, "Anyone can dabble, but once you've made that commitment, then your blood has that particular thing in it, and it's very hard for people to stop you." Commitment really does make things happen.

Principle 14: Persistence

When you feel that you have let yourself or others down, accept it as the past and don't let it prevent you from recommitting to a better future.

Principle 13: Enthusiasm

Edward Butler wrote, "Every man is enthusiastic at times. One man has enthusiasm for 30 minutes, another man has it for 30 days. But it is the man who has it for 30 years who makes a success of life."

Be a person ...

Be a person who sees others, who gets who they are and what is important to them and helps move them ahead in their worlds. Be a person who puts your projects out to others, who lets them know who you are and what is important to you, who allows them to get behind you and move you ahead in your world.

What problems have become acute enough that you are ready to quit tolerating them and start taking action to overcome them? Instead of ignoring or denying pain, why not allow it to enrich your life by unleashing the power within? Principle 12: Pain
